Student Days

When I arrived at the Institute de Touraine in the Loire Valley, I soon discovered that no English would be spoken at school. This was difficult for me as in my three years of French in high school and two years of French literature in college, we spoke English most of the time. Slowly, I began to understand simple questions and was able to reply to them in a mixture of my high school and college French, with some help from Latin and English cognates thrown in.
